AEC Updates

Use the open Forma API to add custom extensions and contextual data

Earlier this year we released our first offering of Autodesk Forma, and revealed our long term vision to develop an industry cloud that connects workflows across the entire AECO (Architecture, Engineering, Construction and Operations) industry. We knew from the outset that this ambitious plan meant creating a platform that is open and extendable – and we are now able to enable this through the Forma API, currently in public beta.

There are many exciting ways developers can benefit from the Forma API. Read on to see some ways you can start conceiving and creating custom extensions and new solutions for the industry.

ACC Reviews API: Call for Beta Testing Participation

Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) and BIM 360 Reviews feature allows project administrators to define and set up approval workflows for project members to follow before project-related documents are sent out as final, approved documentations. The programmatic access to the reviews is highly demanded.

We are planning to conduct private beta testing for reviews API near future. The scope will be read/write of reviews and workflows. The API is compatible for ACC and BIM 360. At this point, we are hoping to start beta testing around mid-August. If you are interested in and willing to test and give us feedback, please contact us. Learn more.

ACC Admin API: GET Projects and Project Users

We are excited to announce the 1st set of ACC Admin API public beta release, the 1st API set includes 4 GET endpoints to list information of ACC projects and project users. Check out the blog to learn more.

BIM 360 Issues (v1) API - New Deprecation Date

Does your application use BIM 360 Issues (v1) API? Autodesk plans to retire eleven (11) BIM 360 Issues (v1) API endpoints. Recently we have released the version 2 of BIM 360 Issues APIAction required: If you are using any of the eleven (11) Issues (v1) API endpoints with BIM 360, please migrate to Issues (v2) API by August 15th, 2023, at which point the Issues (v1) API endpoints will be deprecated and stop functioning. Failure to migrate in a timely manner will result in breaking the workflow in your application. Read this blog for more details.

Data Updates

Fusion Data API

Through the Fusion Data APIs, you can read, write, and extend  your design model through cloud-based workflows. All this without the need for desktop authoring applications like Fusion 360. Learn more about how manufacturing design data is stored in the cloud, in a granular, transparent, and accessible way.

Physical Properties, Geometry in STEP format and Project Admin Tools now available via Fusion Data APIs

We're excited to announce the release of three new Fusion Data APIs in public beta, that will help you automate your design & make workflows and get your products to market faster than ever before. Check them out!

Augment Fusion Data With Custom Properties: Call for private beta participation

We are excited to announce the next evolution of the Fusion Data APIs and invite you to participate in our beta program! This feature builds upon the valuable feedback we received from our previous beta and addresses feature requests, concerns, and bugs from the last iteration. Get involved here.
