Physical Properties, Geometry in STEP format and Project Admin Tools now available via Fusion Data APIs

We're excited to announce the release of three new Fusion Data APIs in public beta, that will help you automate your design & make workflows and get your products to market faster than ever before.

• Export a Fusion 360 component in STEP file format: With the STEP file format now available customers can transfer product design data between different manufacturing software applications. This enables manufacturers to automate creation of simulations and virtual prototypes, run tests, and generate tool paths for CNC machines and other production equipment. This helps streamline product development and production processes, reducing costs and improving product quality.

• Query the Physical Properties of a Fusion 360 component like mass, volume, density, surface area and bounding box (width, length, height). This can greatly enhance the efficiency and accuracy of various processes related to the design, manufacturing such as including dimensions in the parts list or bill of materials or ability to instantly run sustainability impact analysis.

• Project Admin Tools APIs enable you to automate project admin tasks such as creating new projects within a Hub or adding users to projects, traditionally done manually within Fusion 360.
