March News Recap

Autodesk Platform Services

We don’t want you to miss any of this month’s updates. Below you’ll find a full recap of this month's announcements, new code samples, documentation, events, and more.

Announcements

BuildingConnected API now available

BuildingConnected is the largest real-time construction network that connects owners and builders through an easy-to-use platform to streamline the bid and risk management process. This initial release of the API offers a batch of read endpoints that cover most of the key data objects across both BuildingConnected Pro and Bid Board Pro, as well as the query parameters necessary to cover expected workflows. Access documentation and get started with this new API here.

Webhooks: Backend System Upgrade and IP Addresses Change

Autodesk is planning to upgrade the backend system for Webhooks in April 2023. This will be done without any downtime of Webhooks services. While we do not publish the IP addresses used by Webhooks and therefore do not expect any reliance on them, if your current Webhooks implementation depends on IP addresses, we encourage you to implement the token-based verification method by the dates identified below, or to contact us as soon as possible at aps.help@autodesk.com. To learn more, check out this blog.

Design Automation: Engine Lifecycle Policy and Removal of Older Engines

As the number of customers who depend on applications that are built using Design Automation grows, it is also important to clearly identify supported versions of Design Automation engines. Autodesk will remove the following engine versions, equivalent of desktop versions 2018 and earlier, by October 20, 2023. If you are using any of the following engine versions, you must migrate to an applicable supported newer version by this date.

  • AutoCAD.20_1 (initial release date March 30, 2015)
  • AutoCAD.21 (initial release date March 30, 2016)
  • AutoCAD.22 (initial release date March 30, 2017)
  • Autodesk.Inventor.2018 (initial release date March 30, 2017)
  • Autodesk.Inventor.22 (initial release date March 30, 2017)
  • Autodesk.Revit.2018 (initial release date March 2017)

New ECO and Occurrence properties in Fusion Data API

There are some new properties on the ComponentVersion object (currently in Beta) that will help you move between the API and Fusion Manage Extension. Check out this blog to learn more and give them a try!

Update on APS Design Automation Firewall Rules

In order to process “onComplete” or “onProgress” callback behind a firewall, new IPs need to be allowed for different engines. Read the blog to ensure you have the new IPs noted.

Data Exchange APIs now support GraphQL!

If you’ve been watching the Autodesk Platform Services (APS formerly Forge) Data initiatives, then you know that GraphQL has started to emerge as our standard for easily accessing and querying your CAD and BIM design data. GraphQL has already become the standard for accessing and querying complex data across several industries. Our Data Exchange GraphQL API is now in public beta. This blog has all the information you need to learn how this could benefit you.
