New APS online training for software developers will include AEC Data Model API! January 22-25, 2024
What is the APS online bootcamp?
Autodesk Platform Services (APS) Online Bootcamp is an online training for software developers in the basics of APS development. Our developer advocates will live-code various APS applications and answer your questions as you follow their steps.
The event will take place January 22-25, 2024 (Monday through Thursday). You can either attend one day or all 4 days. Attendance is free of charge.
As part of the upcoming bootcamp, we are also offering a new bonus session on AEC Data Model API!
Who is it for?
If you are just getting started with Autodesk Platform Services or looking to refresh/improve your APS development skills, this event is for you.
All bootcamp classes are suitable for Beginner Level (some preparation is required - see below).
How does it work
Each day of the event will be dedicated to a specific topic (some of which are covered by the tutorials from https://tutorials.autodesk.io/).
For each topic there will be a full-day class in the Central European Time zone and another full-day class in the Pacific Time zone, so that you can choose the time that works best for you.
- Day 1: Uploading, translating, and previewing your 2D/3D designs (Node.js or .NET)
- Day 2: Customizing the viewer, and adding dashboards to your application (Java Script)
- Day 3: Modifying your designs with the Design Automation service (Node.js or .NET)
Bonus content
- Day 4: Exploring granular access to AEC design data stored in the cloud with the new AEC Data Model (GraphQL)
This bonus bootcamp session will show how a new language, GraphQL, is being used to provide direct cloud access to granular design data. It will guide you through how GraphQL queries work, with concrete examples of workflows. We will use a "data explorer" allowing you to directly enter and modify queries.
Preparation resources
Make sure you get the most out of this training by going through some basic learning resources prior to the event (if needed):
Special instructions for Day 4 (AEC Data Model API tutorial)
No specific programming language skills will be required, but general programming experience is expected.
You will also be required to have an ACC Docs account, bring your own Revit data sets, and join our beta program. We will provide example data sets, but to get the most from the course, having your own data will also be a powerful experience for you.
