Design Automation API for Fusion now generally available

Full Commercial Release
In February 2025 we started the beta program for the Design Automation API for Fusion and it's been truly exciting to see what our innovation partners and early adopters have built using this new API. Today, we officially announce the commercial release of the Design Automation API for Fusion.
What is the Design Automation API for Fusion?
Autodesk’s Design Automation API brings the power of AutoCAD, Revit, Inventor, 3ds Max and now Fusion to the cloud, making advanced automation accessible on a pay-per-result basis. The Design Automation API now includes the Fusion Scripting API and thus covers the entire design and manufacturing process. Tasks you traditionally scripted in your Fusion desktop client can now run at scale in the cloud without requiring any user interaction. Because it’s built entirely for the cloud, the Design Automation API can connect with your existing business systems and processes. This opens the door to complete, end-to-end workflows that boost speed, increase flexibility, and drive new business opportunities.
What applications can you build with the Design Automation API for Fusion?
Design Customisation
Expose key parameters of a design to allow for easy customisation of your products. Try out the Fusion Configurator Demo to configure Designs you store on your Fusion Team hubs and explore how this fit into your projects and processes. And what’s more: we’ve made the source code and instructions of this configurator available for you on the official APS github pages.
Milling Automation - Toolpath.com
Deepen your integration with Fusion, making data transfer between your application or service and Fusion easier than ever. The wizards from Toolpath.com have created a seamless integration between their platform and Fusion to speed-up and automate the programming of parts. Try it for yourself on toolpath.com!
Industrial 3D Printing
Automate repetitive, standardised or time-consuming tasks in your manufacturing processes. The Design Automation API makes available the advanced manufacturing algorithms in Fusion, including our industry-leading TrueShape packer. Stay tuned for more examples in other manufacturing verticals!
Pricing
Design Automation API for Fusion is now a Premium API with a cost of 3.0 Flex tokens per processing hour. Whenever you submit a job through the Design Automation API, every second counts towards your processing hours, including the time it takes to transfer files between systems. You can monitor the token usage of your applications here.
