Autodesk DevCon Call for Proposals is open now until 12/20

APS Business Model Evolution
Before the end of the year, Autodesk Platform Services (APS) will launch a new business model for cloud APIs, making access more flexible and predictable so you can plan with confidence as your projects grow. The changes will impact all customers and developers using APS APIs so please read on for two critical steps you’ll need to take as this transition begins.

Announcing the General Availability of the Data Exchange Cloud Connector for IFC
We are excited to announce that the Data Exchange Cloud Connector for IFC has officially reached General Availability (GA) and is now available in all ACC Projects created after July 22nd 2025 across the US, EU and AUS regional hubs. This key milestone expands the Autodesk Data Exchange ecosystem and unlocks new possibilities for openBIM collaboration, enabling users to extract and share granular IFC data subsets across their project workflows. Expanding regional offerings in UK, Germany, Japan, India and Canada (Phase II)
In June 2025, Autodesk announced the availability of five (5) additional regions as a primary storage location for your project data for certain Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) products: i.e., Autodesk Docs, Autodesk BIM Collaborate and Collaborate Pro in the United Kingdom, Germany, Japan, Canada and India. On October 27, Autodesk announced the availability of additional products and features for those five regions: i.e., Autodesk Build, Autodesk Takeoff, as well as Parameters and AEC Data Model features in ACC products. With this expansion, customers are now able to use the same set of tools available for ACC products in the US, EU and Australia while using the specified region as the primary storage location.

Manufacturing Data Model API v3
Manufacturing Data Model API v3 is now GA and though its documentation already provides migration info it can be useful to offer some of the same from a different perspective as well. Read the blog to learn more.
Model Derivative API – IFC to SVF2 Translation Method v4 and Migration Tips
The post explains the new “IFC v4” conversion method in the Model Derivative API, which is now the recommended way to translate IFC files into SVF/SVF2. It highlights the key differences from the previous “IFC v3” method—such as improved hierarchy handling, better large-coordinate support, and more accurate property naming—and provides migration tips for users whose projects were set up with IFC v3. Files uploaded to Docs via Desktop Connector are not automatically translated to viewable
In August 2025, Autodesk informed the account administrator of Autodesk Docs about the following behavior change when uploading files through Desktop Connector: files uploaded to Docs via Desktop Connector will no longer be automatically translated for viewing. The user will need to manually initiate the translation process by selecting an individual file or a group of files in either the Desktop Connector or Docs user interface (UI). Learn more.
