Building for Agentic AI: What’s New in Autodesk Platform Services

DevCon keynote

At Autodesk DevCon 2026, we shared many exciting updates. New data APIs. The first Autodesk MCP servers. A Design and Make Marketplace. And the infrastructure for you to build secure and trusted solutions for an agentic AI world. Let’s get into it.

Unlocking Design Data with APS

We continue to expand structured, granular, cloud-native access to design and engineering data through Autodesk Platform Services. More data domains, near real-time sync, and broader interoperability across tools and formats — for you to build more connected workflows and experiences.

Data APIs and Data Exchanges

  • The AEC Data Model API now provides direct access to granular Revit data, including geometry, properties, and relationships, exposed as structured, cloud-native data. API-based access to basic granular geometry is available, with advanced geometry manipulations possible via the Data Interoperability SDK in public beta. With the release of Revit 2027, you can now link critical data like installation batch numbers and fabrication IDs via the AEC data Model API to a model in Revit.

  • Plant3D data is now available with AEC Data Model API through a public beta

  • With Revit Sync, applications can use work-in-progress data instead of relying on frequent publishing of the Revit Cloud Model. Enable the Forma Connected Client Tech Preview feature to get started.

  • New connectors are here. This includes the Navisworks Connector moving from beta to general availability and a new Civil 3D Cloud Connector beta coming soon. These connectors enable developers and application users to access, transform, and synchronize data across tools and formats without manual file handling.

  • With Data Exchange Live (preview), application users can use Revit Connector and Rhino Connector workflows on streaming, real-time data updates across systems – enabling more interactive and collaborative scenarios that improve project efficiency.

  • The Connector for Power BI has been updated to improve performance with SVF2. This is a first step, and we will expand this connector in the future with Microsoft certification, unification with Forma capabilities, and Fabric integration.

Autodesk MCPs

We're releasing our first set of Autodesk Public MCPs. With these MCPs – built specifically for Design and Make workflows – agents can access project context, connect to tools, and take action — without custom integrations from scratch.

  • Fusion MCP (tech preview) — create, modify, and inspect 3D geometry
  • Fusion Data MCP (tech preview) — interact with component properties and administration
  • Revit MCP (tech preview) — access and inspect model data
  • Product Help MCP (tech preview) — access to Autodesk’s official product documentation for faster insights
  • Fusion Automation MCP (private beta) — run Fusion workflows remotely using natural language. Apply for the private beta
  • InfoWorks Hydraulic Modeling MCP (coming soon) — exposes hydraulic modeling capabilities from InfoWorks ICM and InfoWorks WS Pro

Performance at Scale

Alongside new capabilities, we continue to strengthen the platform foundation developers rely on.

Automation API Performance Improvements

We're investing in performance improvements across Automation API engines — faster execution, more efficient processing for large-scale workloads, better queue time predictability, and more developer control over how jobs are processed. These improvements are coming in the months ahead.

Moving to 3-Legged OAuth (3LO)

We are upgrading APS APIs to three-legged OAuth (3LO) and enabling admins to block 2LO for enhanced security. With 3LO’s fine-grained folder-level permissions, admins can ensure that access permissions are explicitly user-consented for stronger enterprise trust and security.

3LO is currently available for the Forma Admin API and the APS Data Management API and is coming soon for other APIs.

Developer Hubs to manage teams and applications

Developer Hubs now give you centralized management of your applications, team access, and usage. If you haven't migrated your apps to a Developer Hub yet, now's the time — it's required for the new APS business model, and it gives you significantly better visibility and control.

Autodesk Assistant on the APS website

With Autodesk Assistant coming soon to the APS website, you'll be able to quickly determine estimated costs for your use case and eventually be able to access documentation. The Assistant will evolve into a partner that can help you learn about and work with APS solutions.

Design and Make Marketplace

We've launched the Design and Make Marketplace — a new destination for developers to publish applications, integrations, and AI-powered solutions, make them discoverable, and reach customers at scale.

As agentic AI reshapes how tools are discovered and invoked, the Marketplace becomes where your solutions get found — not just by users browsing a catalog, but by agents assembling workflows dynamically.

Autodesk Assistant to integrate with third-party MCP servers

We're also building a path for certified third-party MCPs published on the Design and Make Marketplace to be callable directly inside Autodesk Assistant. That means your MCP won't just be listed — it can be invoked as part of an orchestrated workflow, right where customers are working. We previewed this orchestration at DevCon and will open the path to integrating with the Assistant in the future.

What’s Next

Agentic AI is expanding what you can build with APS – and how your solutions reach customers. Start exploring the Autodesk MCPs and Data APIs to see where you can deliver value faster. Build for discoverability and prepare to certify and publish your solution in the Design and Make Marketplace.
