Uncharged APS usage

Default blog image

We're introducing a new feature on the APS Developer Portal(aps.autodesk.com) on the Application-Level API Usage page: Uncharged APS Usage

This feature provides visibility into API usage that was not charged due to your team running out of tokens or credits. It's especially helpful if you have an active application and want to understand how much usage continued while unpaid.

How it works:

Imagine your application is running smoothly, but your team exhausts its tokens mid-operation. With Uncharged APS Usage, you'll now be able to:

  • See exactly how much API usage occurred after tokens ran out

  • Understand the scope of unpaid usage

  • Refill your tokens accordingly to cover that usage and keep your operations uninterrupted

This gives you better transparency and helps ensure you're in control of your API consumption — even during unexpected credit shortages.

How can I differentiate usage?

We’ve updated the reporting page with a new color-coded bar chart to help you quickly distinguish between different types of API usage:

  • Orange bars indicate Uncharged APS Usage — usage that occurred when your team had run out of tokens or credits.

  • Blue bars represent Resolved Usage — usage that was successfully charged and tokens were consumed.

This visual enhancement makes it easier to track which portions of your usage are unpaid versus accounted for, so you can take action as needed.
