Spring Awakening: Fresh Updates for Data Exchange Connectors

As the AEC industry continues to advance toward more connected and interoperable solutions, recent updates to Autodesk’s Data Exchange connectors are further enhancing the way professionals share, manage, and leverage their data across platforms.
We are excited to share the latest enhancements to our Data Exchange Connectors, expanding interoperability and improving efficiency across Revit, Tekla Structures, and Rhino. These updates bring new features, performance improvements, and wider compatibility, helping users streamline their workflows. Let’s dive into the details.
Revit Data Exchange Connector
The latest Revit Data Exchange Connector is now available for Revit 2023 (via Autodesk App Store) and Revit 2024 & 2025 (via the Public Beta community). This version introduces two major updates:
Exchange Placement in Revit
This feature allows you to place exchanges in Revit at your desired location when loading Data Exchange. The selected placement is retained during updates, making it easier to work with designs that have different origins.
Grouping Elements from the Exchange
You can now load Data Exchange as a Model Group in your Revit file, unlocking new possibilities for managing and using exchanged data:
-
Locate Data Exchange in the Revit Project Browser for easier navigation and visibility of exchange contents.
-
Create multiple copies of the Data Exchange while keeping them synchronized with the source exchange.
-
Flexible positioning of Data Exchange instances within the Revit project, allowing preferred locations and orientations.
