Autodesk Forma Data Management (Forma): Setting up external references between files (Upload Linked Files)

A couple of years ago, we shared a way to translate composite models (i.e. multiple models linked by the xRefs or external links) on BIM360 Docs by Web UI (Upload Linked Files) or by using Data Management API: BIM360 Docs: Setting up external references between files (Upload Linked Files)

Now, we are pleased to share that you can do similar with Autodesk Forma Data Management (well-known as Forma Docs, Autodesk Forma). The way of using Data Management API has worked as it has been for a while. We can set up external references between files stored on Forma Docs as we do for files on BIM360 Docs using Data Management API, but not for the Forma Web UI.

However, at the beginning of the new year, we are happy to share Forma Docs Web UI supports "Upload Linked Files" now. For more details on this product feature, please refer to Autodesk Forma Data Management product help.

For using Data Management API to set up external references between files stored on Forma Docs, please refer to the blog post BIM360 Docs: Setting up external references between files (Upload Linked Files). This approach works for both BIM360 and Forma.
