Autodesk DevCon 2026 Highlights

Otto the robot

From April 14–16, 2026, Autodesk DevCon brought together more than 1,200 innovators in Amsterdam to explore how AI is transforming the way we design and make. Across keynotes, sessions, the expo floor, and hands-on workshops, customers and partners saw how Autodesk Platform Services (APS) is helping turn ideas into scalable, real-world solutions. Check out the conference highlights below.

Hands-On Innovation Pre-Events

This year’s DevCon we kickstarted the event with two hands-on learning pre-events.

MCP Workshop

This sold out workshop guided participants through building a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server—from foundational concepts to live implementation. MCPs help connect APIs to LLMs and accelerate development of agents exponentially.

Attendees at the workshop explored:

  • AI-ready data classification and evaluation
  • Limitations of traditional API integrations
  • MCP architecture for structured AI interaction
  • Real-time communication and retrieval from custom-built servers

People were able to code in real time alongside presentation and get live help with experts. This workshop reinforced Autodesk’s leadership in shaping how AI systems interact with design data and workflows.

Dynamo Hackathon

The Dynamo Hackathon invited developers and innovators to push boundaries using Dynamo, AI, and APS integrations.

Teams explored:

  • Dynamo + Design Automation (beta)
  • Dynamo MCP Server integrations
  • Dynamo for Informed Design
  • Dynamo as a Service (Forma beta)

The result? A full day of rapid prototyping, culminating in live demos during the Expo Hall reception—showcasing how quickly ideas can turn into impactful solutions.

Keynotes: From Vision to Scalable Impact

The event opened with the APS Keynote: Powering the Next Era of Innovation, highlighting how organizations can build, orchestrate, and scale AI-driven solutions.

Across both keynote sessions, several themes stood out:

  • AI as a force multiplier for developers—enabling higher-order work and faster innovation
  • Data as the foundation of AI success, with Autodesk’s data strategy playing a central role
  • Platform orchestration at scale, connecting workflows across industries
  • Convergence of AEC and Manufacturing, unlocking new operating models

On day 2, the Industry Innovation Keynote further emphasized how companies are rethinking their businesses around AI-native workflows and platform ecosystems, signaling a shift from experimentation to enterprise-wide transformation.

Building for Agentic AI: What’s New in Autodesk Platform Services

Keynote

Classes: From “What” to “How”

Autodesk DevCon 2026 delivered over 100 sessions spanning beginner to advanced levels to research workshops. These sessions went beyond vision to focus on practical implementation and scalability.

Key areas of focus included:

  • AI & Automation: AI agents, Model Context Protocol (MCP), and autonomous workflows
  • Platform & APIs: APS, GraphQL, and cloud-native architectures
  • Industry Applications: Real-world AEC and manufacturing use cases
  • Business Impact: Efficiency gains, risk reduction, and productivity improvements

What stood out most was the emphasis on production-ready solutions. Attendees didn’t just learn what’s possible—they walked away with new releases, reference architectures, demos, and actionable patterns they could apply immediately

AI Leadership Forum: Shaping the Intelligent Industry

The AI Leadership Forum brought together executives to focus on a critical shift: moving from AI experimentation to real business impact. Discussions centered on agentic AI and how it’s enabling faster decisions, greater productivity, and new ways of working.

Leaders emphasized that success with AI requires more than technology—it demands new operating models, strong governance, and closer collaboration between people and intelligent systems.

The key takeaway: scaling AI is as much a leadership challenge as it is a technical one. Don’t miss these sessions, watch the recordings now.
