We would like to thank all participants of the Data Exchange for IFC Public Beta for their valuable feedback over the past months and are proud to announce that this Beta will now be enabled by default in all ACC projects created after July 22, 2025.
This update significantly simplifies the onboarding experience and the use of Data Exchange in openBIM projects and includes some other minor improvements, such as
- Use the IFC File Name as the default name for data exchange (instead of Scene)
- Improved Folder selection when creating a data exchange (by default expanding to the source folder instead of Project Files)
While the feature remains in beta, your feedback is essential to help us mature it into a fully supported, generally available Data Exchange connector. We invite you to stay in touch with us - either by emailing data.exchange.support@autodesk.com or through our public forum.
As a reminder, Data Exchange for IFC allows you to extract subsets of IFC files for flexible use across Data Exchange connectors - including Revit for referencing and documentation, and Power BI for data visualization and dashboards. You can find a brief overview of these capabilities in this video:
