Bring Creo into the Data Exchange ecosystem

Connect Creo to your AEC workflows with Autodesk Data Exchange

Join Autodesk and CCTech to explore how the Data Exchange Connector for PTC Creo can help connect engineering and AEC workflows, making it easier for teams to share the design information they need without repeatedly exporting, converting, and rebuilding models.

PTC Creo, developed by PTC, originally Parametric Technology Corporation, is a 3D CAD and engineering platform used by designers and engineers to create, develop, and manage complex 3D models and assemblies. It supports workflows such as mechanical design, detailed engineering, drawings, simulation, and manufacturing preparation, making it a core design environment for many engineering teams.

The challenge is that these products often need to be coordinated with buildings, facilities, or infrastructure projects designed in completely different environments. A manufacturer may own the product design in Creo, while architects, engineers, and contractors coordinate the surrounding project in applications such as Revit, Forma Data Management or Navisworks. Today, this handoff can involve repeated exports to formats such as STEP, IFC, or DWG, followed by model conversion, simplification, and manual rework every time the source design changes.

The Data Exchange Connector for PTC Creo, developed by CCTech, brings Creo into the Autodesk Data Exchange ecosystem. Instead of exchanging an entire manufacturing model, teams can share the geometry and design information that matters, create or consume relevant project context in Creo, bring that data into other applications supported by the Data Exchange ecosystem, and keep exchanges up to date as designs evolve.

This creates a new connection between manufacturing and AEC workflows while allowing each team to continue working in its preferred design environment.

During the webinar, we’ll show how Data Exchange can help manufacturing and AEC teams:

  • Share the parts of a Creo model that matter for coordination

  • Bring relevant project context into Creo

  • Keep exchanged information current as designs change

  • Reduce repetitive export, conversion, and model-rebuilding workflows

  • Connect Creo with multidisciplinary workflows across the Data Exchange ecosystem

We’ll also discuss where this approach can add value in workflows involving manufactured equipment, building systems, industrial facilities, and other projects where product and building design need to stay aligned.

Join Autodesk and CCTech to see the Creo Data Exchange Connector in action and explore new ways to connect manufacturing and AEC data.
