Forge Online Bootcamp: Spring 2022 Edition

It's that time of the year again, flowers will soon start to bloom, days will grow longer, and the Forge team is bringing you the next Forge Online Bootcamp!

When?

The event will take place from April 25th to April 28th 2022.

What is it?

Forge Online Bootcamp is a hands-on training in the basics of Forge development where developer advocates live-code various Forge applications, and answer your questions as you follow their steps.

Who is it for?

The event is recommended for software developers who are getting started with the Autodesk Forge platform, or looking to refresh or improve their skills. Since Autodesk Forge is a cloud platform, a basic web development experience (both client- and server-side) is expected, but if you haven't done any web development and would still like to join our bootcamp, don’t worry, you will find a couple of learning resources at the end of this blog post that will get you ready.

How does it work?

Each of the 4 days of the event will be dedicated to implementing a specific type of application. There will be separate tracks for EMEA time zone and AMER time zone, and where applicable, for .NET and Node.js programming languages, giving you 14 tracks to choose from:

  • Monday, April 25th : Uploading, translating, and previewing your 2D/3D designs

    • 8am – 2pm GMT: .NET track for EMEA audience

    • 8am – 2pm GMT: Node.js track for EMEA audience

    • 8am – 2pm PST: .NET track for AMER audience

    • 8am – 2pm PST: Node.js track for AMER audience

    • 8am – 2pm PST: Node.js track for AMER audience

  • Wednesday, April 27th: Customizing the viewer, and adding dashboards to your application

    • 8am – 2pm GMT: track for EMEA audience (for both .NET and Node.js developers)

    • 8am – 2pm PST: track for AMER audience (for both .NET and Node.js developers)

  • Thursday, April 28th: Modifying your designs with the Design Automation service

    • 8am – 2pm GMT: .NET track for EMEA audience

Each track is split into 4 sessions, with each session giving us roughly 1 hour to live-code through a part of the application, and 30 minutes to answer any questions you might have, debug issues, or just grab a snack.
